The original Taurus SB compression system
The CAT10 is equipped with the original Taurus SB (Swinging Wings Compression Box), a proven system that uses swinging wings to first press the scrap before it is cut.
What does SB mean?
SB stands for Swinging Baler or Swinging Box, referring to the way the wings turn inward (instead of sliding straight). This provides:
- Faster pre-compaction of scrap
- Better compaction thanks to the overstroke function with 90° stop
- Less wear and tear and a longer service life for the machine
The overstroke on both wings guarantees that the material is optimally compressed, without leaving residue in the box.
Strong, durable and cleverly designed
The CAT10’s monolithic welded construction provides exceptional strength and stability. All contact surfaces in the cutting head are protected with replaceable wear plates, while the blade sliding guides are made of self-lubricating synthetic material that is resistant to dirt and wear.
The hydraulic system has been completely redesigned: it combines low consumption with high performance and uses modern sensors instead of mechanical limit switches. Thanks to the SIRL system, the speed of the wings is automatically controlled to avoid shocks and vibrations, which not only prolongs service life but also increases safety.
The integrated TS Remote Diagnostics Systems allow the machine to be monitored remotely and in real time, allowing downtime to be kept to a minimum.
