A mobile horizontal silo is commonly used in situations where mobility is essential, such as mobile concrete and mixing plants at temporary construction sites and infrastructure projects. The cement silo or lime silo can serve as a storage and/or dosing silo in soil improvement plants, as for example with the Rematech drum screen 15.7T.
A vertical silo is typically used in stationary installations that remain in place for an extended period. In many cases, a permit is required for its installation. The arrangement requires the use of a crane because of the considerable height in the vertical position.
Advantages of a mobile horizontal silo
- Easy transportation
- Quick set-up on site
- No crane needed
- Usually no permit required
- Height: maximum 3500mm
Disadvantages of a mobile horizontal silo
- Larger footprint
- The discharge system requires 2 screws.
