REDMILL: the powerful modular hammer mill from Taurus Italy

In the modern recycling sector, there is a growing demand for efficient technologies to recover valuable raw materials from complex waste streams. The REDMILL hammer mill, part of Taurus Italy‘s REDLINE line, has been specially developed to process so-called “poor” scrap metal and upgrade it to high-quality secondary raw materials.

Thanks to its powerful grinding process and smart separation technology, the REDMILL makes it possible to efficiently recover metals and other valuable materials from various waste streams.

REDMILL TAURUS HAMMER MILL

Developed for complex scrap flows

The REDMILL hammer mill is designed to process a variety of recycling materials, including:

  • End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV).
  • Light scrap
  • WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment).
  • Large household appliances

These materials often consist of a complex mix of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, combined with plastics, glass, rubber and textiles. Through powerful grinding and efficient separation, the REDMILL helps to return these materials to the recycling chain.

Modular design for maximum flexibility

One of the biggest advantages of the REDMILL is its modular design. This allows for easy integration into existing scrap yards and recycling facilities.

The system can be adapted to:

  • the available space
  • desired production capacity
  • operational workflow

Thanks to this flexibility, the REDMILL fits perfectly within modern recycling processes and can grow with the company’s needs.

Construction of the REDMILL installation

The REDMILL consists of several functional modules that together ensure efficient processing of scrap metal:

  • First unit: feed via conveyor belt or feed tray.
  • Mid unit: feed hopper that guides the material evenly to the hammer mill.
  • Bottom unit: extractor with vibrating plate for controlled material flow.
  • End unit: magnetic drum (“single drum”) for the separation of ferrous metals.

In addition, the installation is equipped with an electronic control and power system and a TS teleassistance system, enabling remote support and monitoring.

Robust technology and powerful performance

The REDMILL hammer mill is built on a sturdy support frame and designed for intensive industrial use. Several models are available within the REDLINE line, including X66, X67 and X77.

Important technical features include:

These features make the REDMILL a powerful solution for recycling companies that want to process large volumes of scrap metal efficiently.

Contribution to the circular economy

The recycling of complex products such as vehicles, electronic equipment and household appliances is becoming increasingly important. These products contain a combination of metals and other materials that are valuable for new production processes.

Technologies such as the REDMILL allow these materials to be efficiently recovered and put back into the economy. This contributes to:

  • a more efficient raw materials chain
  • less waste
  • a stronger circular economy

Recycling thus becomes not only an environmentally friendly activity, but also an economically sustainable solution.
